Learning about Jesus is the second in a series of religious
education workbooks for young students. The aim of this text is
to introduce the person to Jesus, as the son of God who lived a
long time ago, who lives today and with whom we can have a personal
relationship. Learning about Jesus provides a gentle introduction
to key religious language and concepts in the context of religious
education in the Catholic school and parish.
The key topics explored in Learning about Jesus:
- God is in our world
- Jesus
- We learn about Jesus in the Bible
- Jesus teaches us about God
- I can talk to Jesus
The content in this series takes as its starting point the Catholic
Catechism, is guided by the general principles from the General
Directory for Catechesis and shaped within the context of
Australian RE as expressed through Diocesan Guidelines.
Michael Trainor has published widely in the area of faith education
and was principal author for the successful sacraments series Celebrating
our Lives. He lectures in scripture at the Adelaide College
of Divinity and is a priest of the Archdiocese of Adelaide.
