The Aboriginal people of Australia have a rich inheritance: stories
from the Dreaming. The Dreaming stories tell of the origin of the
world, the Great Ancestor Spirits and how the characteristics of
animals and the unusual landscape of Australia came to be.
In This is the Dreaming, Jean Ellis has prepared a second
collection of Dreaming stories from Aboriginal groups in different
areas of Australia. Stories about the turtle, the kangaroo, the
owl, the platypus, the willy wagtail, the snake, butterflies and
the stars are included. These beautifully crafted stories give insight
into the age old questions concerning creation, life and death.
